INSANE 2 WEEKS OF MY LIFE part 2

PArt two this was camp time and boy i've changed soo much from it. i'm not sure if what i say are in the right days but, it's what i can remember. 

SATURDAY 20th

woohoo camp!!! ok this wasn't any normal camp though. It was a Christian conference thingy (so like traning and stuff). Also looking after the schoolies that came up to the sunny coast and helping out 2 churches, and just getting to knoe people in the area and what the spritual climate is like at the sunny coast.  We were staying at the mooloolaba backpackers.

So anyways after getting into my room and dumping my stuff, i went out with some of the guys out to go look around. Got a slurpee and met another shane, he was playing a guitar on the side of the road. Nice guy :)

SUNDAY 21st

This day was GREAT went off to church in the morning, and because we were helping this church out. WE were asked to come up to the front and tell the peoples our names and what we r doing. I was a little nervous, especially when i didn't know anything :p, missed the whole what we r doing talk, cause i came late. so i said who i was :). At lunch half of the group were leaving to go to SU camp to be leaders for the week, so we farewelled them off. Got hit in the head by a frisbee :p.Then in the afternoon, went to the other church we were helping out. Really cool church too, met some really awesome people there.

MONDAY 22nd

Was a lot quiter today as the group was smaller. And today was the day to start sharing the good news, as we all went out to the beach and set up this sort of game called Solarium ( hope that's how u spell it.) Well anyway there's like 50 pictures and we like ask question and the people pick out pictures. The catch was this time getting strangers to play. I was a little freaking out since one of my awesome friends Jonny was gone to SU and he's like the best, helped me so much in this new and exciting Christian world and also getting there too and has been by my side with everything outreachy. He really means alot to me, in a non weird way though. So this time i was by myself in that context. I was like how am i going to get people over to the table. So i tried and failed, well i got a hey :), that's all i seemed to get the whole morning hey, i was a hey getter, expect for this old couple i got a hey and a "good thanks". Bug others seemed to be getting in crowds and having great spiritual convo's with them. So i was starting to feel a little discouraged.

That was until we packed up the game and paired off, and i was paired with Kim. And woo, had some actualyy convo's with people and then this one guy, Kim managed to share parts of the gospel with. 

Then in the afternoon, we set off to church for Zane's talk and soe traning i think... Anyhoo Zane's talk was on Ezekiel and he's courage. And i really enjoyed it, gave me a sorta kick to go b courageous.

TUESDAY 23rd

Can't really remember much from this day, all i can is that we had apologetics with mat (apologetics is learing how to defend our faith) :). Then frisbee in the afternoon, and also we were invited over to these people from the afternoon church to their place. And it was a pretty apartmenty place! And boy the were soooo nice, had like scones and popcorn :) Then I think later that night me and christine went out with these two guys, one from Switzerland and i think the guy i talked to was from hungary. Any way we walked to the beach chattin along the way until we got pulled up by the police,kinda scary cause the swiss guy as drinking in public and i tots didn't realise that and he got lucky and got a warning. whew, was great time though. and also gave me another confidence booster as i was with one of the guys y myself having a one on one convo with a stranger. didn't get spritual or anything though.

 

WEDNESDAY 24th

Wooo beach volleyball in the morning, also me and christine had a quick ocean dip and came back and played! Then afternoon traning and then wednesday night was social night! woo, watched back to the future part 1 while eating ice cream XD! really good night.

   THURSDAY 25th

These next couple of days started to become a wee bit eventful in a good way though. In the morning we had this thing called a personal retreat. I had no idea what this meant or what i would b doing. And then being told that it's was spending like 5hrs ofthe day with god. And i was like to myself huh???? how do i do that? I knew that he speaks to us through his word, but how do i listen out for him, how do i spend time with him? So i set of to the beach to see what would happen and i sat out on the balcony thingy with my notepad and a pen and just stared into the ocean watching the waves crash in and draw out. And then this came to me:

God is wind

God is light

God is everything in sight.

God is far

God is near

God is everything i hear.

The roughest seas

The darkest nights.

I have you to hold me tight.

For your grace 

Has kept my faith

Through these times of darkened skies.

So i give praise

To the son you raised.

This surprised me so much on what i had wrote, and it just came to me i didn't even have to think about it.

So cause my bible is kinda awesome, i looked up the words in the little poem of mine and read versus and sure enough god was speaking to me. i had listened and he spoke. Was the most up lifting experience so far.

After lunch we shared our stories and the it was free time!!! and Julie came to visit. So a few of us went to the beach and man that was soooo fun. Julie taught me how to dive under waves. Wee was soo cool, i was like diving under a washing machine, and u like seem to just float under the wave.  And boy those waves were crazy!! Then my mission was too like make it out pass the crashing waves, and i faught hard against the hardcore waves, getting dumped now and again. And woohoo i made it, and was freaking out cause hey what happened to the ground, u seemed to have disappeared. And i was getting dragged out and then getting drowned  by waves as i couldn't jump over them. So i was kinda really freaking out and started pushing myself forward until yay ground and ohhnoo massive crashing waves and dumped i go, but at least i was back at shore. Then we went 4 ice cream :) also i got pretty nastily sunburnt woo :/. At night we set up the volleyball net down at the beach and also had some fire twirling, was a great night met some neat people and had volleyball fun, and gosh i may actually b good at a sport, but still lots of falling over as per norm :) 

FRIDAY 26th

ok ok! big crazy day ahead even though i didn't know it. the morning i think was traning and i remeber we were learning the different ways people share their faith and the gospel, there was being bold, intellectual, testimonial, interpersonal, invatational or serving. And i got this strong message to be bold about sharing the gospel., it really stuck in my head. When night came, because it was a kinda success on thursday night, we set up the volleyball again and also fire twirling. At first it seemed pretty dull not many were turning up it wasn't till about nine is i think until something crazy hapened....

ok and i'm going to b a meanie and stop it ther and come back for part 3!!! since i lied cause it was more like an intense 3 weeks of my life :P
